Prague, Day 4

Prague, Day 4

Prague, Day 4

Ahhh, our last day in Prague. After breakfast, we headed across the river again, no particular destination in mind, except maybe to check the John Lennon wall again as well as the funicular up to one of the high points in the city.

We ducked into a little side alley and found this charming flower shop.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. From Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. By staying on the little side streets and alleys, we also stayed away from the tours, led invariably by someone with an umbrella raise on high! Every city has them, but it is also easy to s avoid them for the most part.

Back at the wall, people were writing their sentiments. One of our friends told us that aside from the controversy in decades past over this wall, the Prague government tried to stop the writing on the wall by forbidding people to stand on Czech soil while writing. The French Embassy is right across the little courtyard, and they own a two-foot wide strip by the wall and gave anyone permission to stand there and write or paint to their heart’s content. © 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. After lunch along one of the little canals, and more photography, of course, we ended back on Old Town Square. © 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. And a group of acrobats entertained the crowd. At one point, they gathered

people from the audience, and one of the performers, after some humorous antics, jumped over them all. Pretty impressive! © 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. As dusk fell, we walked in another area we had not yet explored. A sculpture added a mysterious note. © 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. From Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. Our “food porn” selection for the day was my salmon tartar that was so flavorful. And another bottle of very good Czech red. © 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. And as we said good-bye to Prague, we looked back on the square. Until next year, Prague, City of 100 Spires! © 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. 1. What a wonderful visit to Prague!!! I especially loved your description and images of the quaint little flower shop. What a labor of love, as well as artistic expression and of course practicality! I continue to always have a vase (or two) of fresh cut flowers in my home. Always a pick me up 🙂

    1. Sandra,

So glad you enjoyed your vicarious visit to Prague. I know what you mean about those flowers. I love it when we visit someone, and a small vase of fresh flowers is by our bed or on a bureau.

      Thanks for your comments!

      Take care,

      TBC
