Join our photography workshop in stunning Venice during what is often misty, foggy, moody fall. Not only that, but November is a time when most of the tourists are gone, and we can roam the city in peace without those obnoxious selfie sticks that are so intrusive during tourist season.

Venice — Venezia in Italiano — is one of the classic, European cities. Located on some 118 islands separated by canals and linked by bridges, Venice lies between the mouths of the Po and Piave Rivers. Dating back to at least the 10th century, this city has many nicknames — "Queen of the Adriatic," "City of Water," "City of Masks," "City of Bridges," "The Floating City," and "City of Canals" to name just a few.

We love this city with its rabbit-warren of narrow, cobbled streets, little alleys that sneak down to canals, the hustle-bustle of the fish market, the famed Piazza San Marcos, the gleam of the gondolas, etc.

The architecture is stunning, and the light is gorgeous as it bounces from side to side along narrow canals and streets.

We are delighted to announce that we will have a guest instructor, Mattia Zaldini, winner of several Leica awards. Mattia is one of our alumni and is now setting up government-sponsored programs for wannabe photographers who have been out in the working world for several years. He is a delight, and those who have not yet met him will enjoy his wry sense of humor and charming European manner.

And like so many worldly Europeans, he has a great appreciation for fine food and wine and knows all sorts of great places to eat!

There are so many other things to explore, and since Mattia works several days a month in "Venezia," he well knows the ins and outs of this marvelous locale.

You might stumble into an old bookshop, or discover where many of the gondolas are refurbished. Walking along a narrow street, you may see a Signora leaning out her fourth-story window and lowering a basket for the postman. You may unexpectedly and delightfully find yourself in a local "ristorante" where the gondoliers gather, sipping on a morning or afternoon coffee.

Meanwhile, be sure to carefully read our FAQs, as well as the various links in the box above. They should hopefully answer almost any question you might have.

Fees:  Standard $TBA | Alumni $TBA | Association $TBA | Early-bird Special @ Association rate but by check (see parameters)
