Cost: $980 Discounts for early birds, BCPA alumni, and members
of ASMP, NANPA, and OWAA (proof required).
Transportation, lodging, meals, and personal expenses are the responsibility of the participants.
Payments:
We accept cash and credit card payments through PayPal.
Please e-mail a copy of your completed Application pages
so we can coordinate it with your payment/acceptance.
Trip Insurance: We highly recommend trip insurance that
includes travel health insurance, especially for overseas trips. Travelex
Insurance Services is
a BBB
Accredited business with an A+ rating, where most of the good companies
rate a mere A or A-. Squaremouth.com,
a leading comparison site, rates Travelex very high amongst
those it lists. There are six plans. For
a lot more information and the name of our contact person, click
here. Meanwhile, suffice
it to say that our travel agent has used Travelex for years.
Accommodations: (Enable
pop-up windows for links to work.)
Once again, we will be staying at the smoke-free Moab
Valley Inn
711 South Main Street
Moab, UT 84532
We have negotiated a handsomely discounted rate of $99 before taxes. Call 1-435-259-4419 to take
advantage of this rate, or go
online, and give code BCPA2010.
Breakfast is included in the room rate. The block is reserved until August 21,
so don't miss out. We made ours in September of 2009, as all accommodations in
Moab fill up quickly. If there are rooms still available after August 21, the
inn will honor the discount.
For those who miss out on our selection, check out other
possibilities in the
Moab area. Even
easier, call Moab/Canyonlands Central Reservations at 1-800-748-4386.
They have information on availability for hotels, motels, lodges,
and rental condos that are quite reasonably priced. This
must be done by phone, as much of the information is not available on the Internet.
Airport:
The nearest major Airport is Salt Lake City, UT (SLC), a hint over four hours from our headquarters.
Closer, however, is the regional Walker Field Airport (GJT)
in Grand Junction, CO, less than two hours from Moab. For those
who are considering flying into Denver (DEN), over four and
a half hours distant, GJT was less than $100 more in 2008 and
a considerably shorter drive to Moab!
Flying with Photo Equipment:
It is always good to check with TSA and your airline before traveling by air. Currently,
TSA
regulations note:
"You may carry one (1) bag of photographic equipment in addition to one (1) carry-on
and one (1) personal item through the screening checkpoint. The additional
bag must conform to your air carrier's carry-on restrictions for size and weight. Please
confirm your air carrier's restrictions prior to arriving at the airport."
They do remind everyone that not all airlines will allow this, so you may want
to select your airline based on thier willingness to work with photographers...
"Air carriers may or may not allow
the additional carry-on item on their aircraft. Please check with your
air carrier prior to arriving at the airport."
If you are a member of a photo association, carry your membership card. It may help
you, but that is not a guarantee.
Always check back with the TSA
website for the latest updates!
Rental Cars:
Because we stop in locations where the roads and streets may be narrow and parking
minimal, we encourage car sharing. If you are interested in sharing a rental
car with others, let us know. We'll pool those who respond and get you in touch
with one another to make your own plans. We can't guarantee that there will be
takers, so we also recommend that you rent a car, as you can always cancel later.
That way, you won't find your car of choice no longer available.
PRIVACY POLICY: Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures is respectful of your privacy and any information you give us, either through our interactive forms or via e-Mail. We are committed to ensuring the security and safety of this information. To that end, our policies are outlined in our Privacy Statement.
