Join our photography workshop in an amazing place, Death Valley National Park with its stark-but-beautiful landscape Last year, this was our alumni workshop. Death Valley has attracted photographers for decades, and with good reason. The patterns in the desert leading the eye off into the often-snow-capped mountains, magnificent skies, numerous canyons, all with different personalities, historic mining sites, designs in the valley floors, and multi-hued rock layers are all great photographic fodder. The colors in death Valley are also amazing. They range from whites, creams, and ochres to chocolate, russet, and black hues. Then, there are those iconic salt flats that seem to go on forever. When you remember that objects on land are farther away than they appear, it lends great respect for the fortitude of early settlers who crossed this inhospitable place. In December, however, you won't have to worry about sizzling in the desert! You'll be able to celebrate your passion for photography, hone your seeing and imaging skills, and learn about the magic of light to make wonderful photographs. This year, with the new moon on the 2nd, we will have opportunities for night skies, if Mother Nature cooperates!
