Join our digital photography workshop in the Burgundy wine-making area
to
strengthen your eye, learn about the magic of light, and hone your imaging skills. Bourgogne is arguably the heart and soul of France's wine country. Vineyards form a patchwork pattern across the hillsides and valleys. Charolais cattle, wheat fields, and Medieval stone villages all add to the visual appeal of this beautiful part of the world. We'll show you wonderful places where you'll make great photographs and taste great wines. And we haven't even mentioned that
this is home to some of the greatest wines of the world. You will photograph in all of these locations, favorites of your instructors.
We'll be based in the Beaune area of Bourgogne, right in the heart of it all. Just down the lane is a wonderful little restaurant
run by a charming couple who cook the most delicious meals imaginable. We will
also sample other cuisine in the area, depending upon our day's location. And
for those who love wine, we always find time to do some tastings. The Barefoot Contessa has gained access to some pretty special "caves" that primarily cater not to the general public, rather to private collectors and restaurateurs! You will not be disappointed!.
Margo's love of languages has helped, and she
has spoken fluent French since she was in grade school. This means that you don't even have to worry about speaking the language, although a "Bonjour" or "Merci" is always appreciated!
At each of our photo adventures, we start out with some technical information before heading out for our first afternoon of photography. Our workshops include the following:
Maximum 6-to-1 ratio students to instructors
Opening wine-and-pizza reception;
Primer booklet to help you get started;
Early-morning and late-afternoon shoots;
Mid-day processing and tweaking your images with Photoshop and Lightroom;
Epson printing element with a booklet of step-by-step instructions;
Lots of individual instruction in both the field and classroom;
Critiques, both individual and group;
Discussions on various aspects of photography, including digital workflow;
Final group critique and show; and
Lots of fun and frivolity throughout!
In our print element, our instructors will show
you the ins and outs of successfully and easily turning your favorite digital
images into stunning prints using a high-quality Epson printer. In fact,
in all our domestic workshops, you will end up making a lovely, large, archival print of
one of your workshop photographs made with Epson paper and inks to take home with you.
Remember, our tag line reads, "Create great photos; make great
prints!"
If you have not already done so, check our FAQs for
questions you may have as well as equipment and installed downloads you need to bring to the workshop including,
if necessary, the free, 30-day, trial versions of the Adobe products.
