Margo Pinkerton, a.k.a. The Barefoot Contessa, got her first camera at age eight and has been photographing and traveling with a passion ever since. She has been a location and stock photographer for advertising, corporate, travel, and outdoor clients for over 25 years, and has given numerous photo workshops and sponsored lectures and led many photo adventures. Her work has appeared in a plethora of calendars, coffee-table books, and magazines worldwide, including GEO and National Geographic Traveler. Growing up in an artistic family that exposed her to the great museums and painters of the world has given Margo a unique insight into composition and beautiful, natural light. Her husband and partner, Arnie Zann, started his career photographing for LIFE and Time and has been published in almost every major magazine in the world. His award-winning work is in many private and museum collections including the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY. He has given numerous workshops and seminars throughout his long career travelling the world for editorial and Fortune 500 clients. Arnie's first love is black-and-white photography, and his knowledge of the zone system and lighting brings strength to his photographs. Both Margo and Arnie have shot extensively for stock images that have appeared in advertising, corporate, and editorial venues. Their passion is making beautiful images worldwide. As Margo always says, "We can't not do photography." John Pagliuca has been a photographer and filmmaker for more than 30 years, creating award-winning images for corporate and advertising clients world-wide. Originally intent on becoming a writer, John switched to photography in college when he saw his first black-and-white print come up in the developer tray and has been making pictures ever since. He began working digitally in 2000, learning the often-arcane details and techniques of digital printing, color management, and digital workflow. He's been a photographic instructor, and currently works individually with photographers who want to master digital image making. John shares Margo's and Arnie's passion for photography as a creative art, and his fine art photography has been widely exhibited and collected. Our instructors' boundless energy and passion is infectious, and they really enjoy sharing their knowledge, experience, and love of photography with others.
