Join our photography workshop on the dramatic Outer Banks, a long, thin strip of barrier islands that protect the North Carolina Coast. Preserved to a large extent by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, it is a visual feast of historic lighthouses spaced between long stretches of wild beaches and pristine sand dunes.
We'll be based in Nags Head, near all our locations, making it easier to get up for those early-morning shoots! Every day, the land- and sea-scapes take on a different look, depending upon the weather and time of day. Each lighthouse, with its unique shape and pattern, has its particular flash sequence, so even at night, or early in the morning, you'll know which one you are seeing and photographing.
Even in inclement weather, our locations are dramatic against a stormy sky. The National Seashore has many other interesting subjects — the patterns of the sand dunes, sea oats and beach peas, and surf pounding the deserted beaches. Scouting Option: For those who want more time with Margo and Arnie, we offer the opportunity to scout and shoot with them before most of our domestic workshops. We limit this to two people per day who ride in the car with the instructors. During these days while Arnie and Margo do their own photography and final scouting for the workshop, there is also lots of individual instruction and discussions about photography. Lightroom Private Instruction: Some of our participants prefer to come in a day ahead and get some added instruction in Lightroom. Contact us for details.

You will also receive written instructions on the ins and outs of successfully and easily turning your favorite digital images into beautiful prints straight out of the latest version of Lightroom using your own printer.
