Join our photography workshop in "Down East" Maine, an area known
for its dramatic rocky coast, pounding surf, wonderful lighthouses, and fishing harbors and coves rimmed by Balsam Fir trees. We will photograph in areas where Winslow Homer, Andy
Wyeth, and other artists have painted for centuries.
Maine is also known for its seafood. Not only will we head to our favorite
fish shack for the famous Maine lobster, shrimp, and scallops, but as a special treat, we'll join a couple of Downeast friends one day for lunch on their dock for an informal lobster/clam/scallop fest.
The Barefoot Contessa grew up sailing
this area, so knows it well. We look forward to introducing you to special
locations where you'll be able to celebrate
your passion for photography, hone your seeing and imaging skills, and learn
about the magic of light to make wonderful photographs.
We will be based in a romantic inn (complete with a spa for your spouse or SO) in charming New Harbor in the heart of Margo's oft-visited haunts,
subjects of many of her shots published in calendars, travel magazines, and coffee-table
books. Arnie now also knows this area intimately.
Scouting Option:
For those who want more time with Margo and Arnie, we offer the opportunity to scout and shoot with them before most of our domestic workshops. We limit this to two people per day who ride in the car with the instructors. During these days, there is lots of one-to-one instruciton while Arnie and Margo do their own photography and final scouting for the workshop.
Some of our participants like to come in a day ahead and get some added instruction on Lightroom. Contact us for details.
