Information for Springtime on the Outer Banks Photo Workshop

Cost:  $850
Discounts for early birds, BCPA alumni, and members of ASMP and NANPA (proof required).
Transportation, lodging, meals, and personal expenses are the responsibility of the participants.

Payments:
We accept PayPal and credit card payments through PayPal. Please e-mail a copy of your completed Application pages so we can coordinate it with your payment/acceptance.

Weather

Trip Insurance:
It is never a bad idea to buy trip insurance and sometimes, even travel health insurance. Insure My Trip is one website that has been written up in the New York Times, Washington Post, etc. and lists a number of reliable companies that deal with travel insurance along with price comparisons. When you shop, look carefully at the coverage offered to make sure it meets your needs. Insure My Trip, by the way, is a BBB Accredited business.

Once again, we will be based at the lovely, historic
          First Colony Inn
          6715 South Croatan Highway
          Nags Head, NC  27959.

We have negotiated a discount of 15% off the "rack rate" that translates to rates 109+ on up (weekday rates are less, weekend rates more.) Breakfast is included in the room rate. This is a popular inn, so we recommend making your reservations early, even if you have to cancel later. Your instructors have already made theirs! Call 1-800-368-9390 for reservations and mention "Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures."

The discounted rate will also apply if you wish to come earlier and stay later. Plan on taking advantage of the discounted rates to stay an extra day or so. For those who miss out on the First Colony Inn, check other possibilities in and around Nags Head.

Airport:
The nearest major Airport is Norfolk, VA (ORF), a bit less than two hours to the north. Another option is Raleigh/Durham, NC (RDU) that may have more choices and is a tad less than four hours away.

Rental Cars:
Because we stop in locations where the roads and streets may be narrow and parking minimal, we encourage car sharing. If you are interested in sharing a rental car with others, let us know. We'll pool those who respond and get you in touch with one another to make your own plans. We can't guarantee that there will be takers, so we also recommend that you rent a car, as you can always cancel later. That way, you won't find your car of choice no longer available.
