When people think of France, they usually think about Provence, right after Paris, and it is to Provence that we are headed. With its hill-top towns, twisty, cobblestone streets, charming fabrics, masses of flowers, bories (those little, round, dry-stone huts), Roman aqueducts, arched gates, patchwork fields, there is so much to explore. We'll visit towns with such familiar names as LaCoste (yes, of clothing fame), Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, etc.
Arnie and Margo look forward to showing you this area and the special places they have found where you'll be able to celebrate your passion for photography, hone your seeing
and imaging skills, and learn about the magic of light to make wonderful photographs.
We'll be based in the Gordes area of the Luberon, right in the heart of Provence. It will be hard to leave this photogenic spot, but each day, we'll visit a different area.
Margo's love of languages has helped, and she
has spoken fluent French since she was in grade school. This means that you don't even have to worry about speaking the language, although a "Bonjour" or "Merci" is always appreciated!
For those who will be staying on, if there is enough interest (a minimum of six participants), we can do a four-day add-on, Sicily, Crossroads of the Med right after our Tuscany workshop. We will be based in the beautiful, historic, and vibrant Medeival town of Taormina on the northeast coast
of Sicily. Home to the famous Teatro
Greco and with views of Etna and and the dramatic coast, it is a good base for exploring this area. We will be visiting one of our favorite restaurants in the world where the food and wine is amazing and the experience with our host like nothing you have ever seen.
We start out with some technical information before heading out for our first afternoon of photography. Our workshops include the following:
Maximum 6-to-1 ratio students to instructors
Opening reception with wine and local fare;
Primer booklet to help you get started;
Daily shoots;
Lots of individual instruction in both the field and classroom;
