Sicily, known as "Sicilia" in Italian, is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Inhabited since around 8,000 BCE, it is home to five UNESCO World Heritage Sites as well as Mt. Etna, the "friendly" volcano that is so much a part of its eastern landscape.
Add to these the dramatic coasts, small cliffside villages, wine country, and colorful fishing fleets, and you will have much to photograph. Don't forget all those scenes from The Godfather. Some of them were filmed in the area in which we hold our workshops! We'll be based in the beautiful, historic, and vibrant Medeival town of Taormina, home to the famous Teatro Greco, wonderful little alleys, fun piazzas, and great food and wine.
After all, Sicily is as much about food and wine as it is about the ancient history and magnificent scenery. It has gotten a lot of favorable reviews, including people who would like to carry our bags!Margo and Arnie look forward to returning here and showing you some of their favorite locations where you'll be able to celebrate your passion for photography, hone your seeing and imaging skills, and learn about the magic of light to make wonderful photographs. Plan on staying on to see some of the rest of this wonderful island with its ancient history, as this is large island, too big to cover in a workshop where we can give you a mere taste ... but what a taste it will be!
