More walking. We love walking in Paris and other cities. For us, it is the way to savor an area, although it does often take longer to get from one destination to another. For us, however, it is more about the journey than the target. Day 13 saw close to 5 miles of walking, Day 14 a mere 4-1/4.

But people are out and enjoying Paris as they usually do. While some of the lower walks are still flooded. people line up on steps, soaking in long-absent sun.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. We pass by a building, and at first glance, two people are up a story looking down on the passers-by. Woops, someone has a sense of humor; they are just manequins.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. Dogs rule in Paris. This is not usually a good thing, as there are lots of hazards to avoid. We were in shock the other day when an owner actually cleaned up after his dog! This elderly dog helps welcome customers into his owner’s shop.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. From Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. It is getting towards evening, and we are enjoying the late light. Arnie and I see an elderly gentleman, looking natty with his red kerchief in his breast pocket. He sits on the other side of a famous Picasso bust. His “shades” are quite chic.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. From Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. We have passed by one of the local restaurants that we have added to our favorites list. The wait staff recognizes us from the other night. Yes, we are returning, but we are going to photograph a bit more. How long? We’ll probably be back in an hour-ish. And oui, pour trois. For three.

We return, and everyone proudly shows us the inscription on the paper table coverlet:

We are delighted and laugh. This “Margaux” reference is from our first night here with our group (we had a Margaux Boston, and I was born in Boston) and our waitress was the charming lady with the “leading lines” for those who are on Facbook.

It seems we are now valued customers, regulars, as it were, for when we sit down, our server brings us three glasses of champagne infused with raspberries. Compliments of the house. Yummm.

Tomatoes and Mozarella, Frogs legs, Escargots, folowed by Tartare, and other goodies, all accompanied, of course, by wine, and we are well fed and satisfied, as the after-shot of the table shows.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. If you loook carefully, you can see our order written on the paper. It then gets totaled up, at the table, by hand, later. This is a cash-only restaurant, and that works for us.

The evening lights have come on, perfect for us photographers, and we wander on. I love the window displays, especially the fabrics, as in this window.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. The next day is the last day in Paris for two of our friends for this year. We meet for lunch, and this server has his own style, as do so many of those in the service industry here.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. From Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. One day, two of the ladies in our group go cheese splurging. This is only a small sampling of what they procured and is set at our flat’s dining table. If you look closely, you will see the goat cheese Eiffel Tower.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. From Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. The couple who is leaving wants to enjoy the restaurant with the great waitress, so we stop by again and make our “reservation.” Clearly, someone is ordering Escargots.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. Again, we are brought lovely kirs that we sip while awaiting our wine selection.

One of our friends orders the frogs legs, and again, they are delicious.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. From Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. I order the Poulet, chicken that is savory with some sort of cauliflower dish that is also tasty. The French choufleur sounds so much more elegant than cauliflower.© 2016 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. It is a fun evening. Through our server, we meet some other diners, clearly special clients, who, as it turns out, provide the fish for the restuarant. They send over a couple of glasses of their very nice wine. Our friends have had to leave for a very early departure for the airport, but we stay, savoring sitting there, listening to jazz wafting across the street from a club.

Just when we think we are done, our lovely server brings two glasses of an after-dinner liquer, compliments of the owner who is not there this night but who has heard that we have returned yet again. This does not feel like New York, or Chicago, or San Francisco, or…

Paris is good.

It has been another great day.
