AWARDS! Recently, we got two bronzes from Epson 2010 Pano Awards and two Honorable Mentions in WIPI's juried exhibition celebrating "A Decade of Images 2000-2010," one of which is shown above.
Do you want to learn how to make stunning photographs? Do you
want to do it in a small, intimate photo workshop where you can spread out
and find your own subject, not stand shoulder to shoulder with
a gaggle of other photographers? With a maximum 6:1 ratio of participants to instructors, you will get loads of daily individual instruction in both the field and classroom. And we haven't even mentioned the fun factor!
We always love it when we hear from many of our participants that they have won awards and been accepted into galleries and juried shows after joining us for one or more of our workshops.
So join Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures for long, fun, intensive days in which you'll have a great
time while learning to seek and refine your own creative vision,
whether in a regularly-scheduled photo
workshop, a private workshop of
your choosing, or by scouting
and photographing with the instructors before a workshop and receiving some added instruction.
We
also have gift
certificates for those
who want to give a workshop (or part of a workshop) as a present.
While we (Margo and Arnie) don't
tell you exactly what to photograph, we take you to great locations
and pride ourselves on giving you the tools — understanding
the magic of light, elements of composition, knowledge of color,
and processing techniques — that
will help inspire you to create more compelling photographs, regardless
of your experience level. Our student
galleries speak to
the success of our philosophy.
We can also help those who are interested develop a logical,
efficient workflow that will make the storage and processing of
your images easier.
With workshops limited to 12 participants sharing two instructors (maximum 6:1
ratio), you can be assured of lots of individual attention, help, and critiques.
In fact, we are working with you
the entire time in both the field and classroom. In addition, because of our
small group size, we have gained access to some private areas that cannot handle
larger groups. We continue to be blown away by the work our students produce in our workshops, their student
comments, and the high percentage of returning alumni.
Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures has been around since
the early
80s, and with our
track record as seasoned, working pros with
many decades of teaching
experience, you will learn a lot! While we may sometimes photograph
with you, our first commitment is always to give you, the participant,
the most rewarding photographic and learning experience possible.
We are proud to report that some
of our students have won
awards and
been accepted into juried shows! In addition, Barefoot Contessa
Photo Adventures has been featured quite a number of times
in magazines and articles, as you can see here.
BCPA workshops include the following:
Maximum 6-to-1 ratio students to instructors;
Welcome reception;
Our Basic Principles of Photography booklet with lots of tools
to help you improve your photography and instructions for printing
from Lightroom;

version of Lightroom and for those who wish, Photoshop CS4 and
Photomatix;
Lots of individual instruction in both the field and classroom;
Critiques, both individual and group;
Discussions on various aspects of photography, including digital
workflow;
Final group critique and show; and
Lots of fun and frivolity throughout!
If you have not already done so, check our FAQs for
questions you may have as well as equipment and installed downloads you need
to bring to the workshop including, if necessary, the free, 30-day, trial versions
of imaging programs.
If our FAQs do not answer all your questions,
please contact Barefoot Contessa
Photo Adventures. As we noted above, Margo
and Arnie have
many decades of experience as both active pro shooters and teachers,
and we do love to have fun with our students!
