We get up, do our imaging, then take off for the rest of the day, often not returning to our hotel until after 11:00. After all, it is nearly summer, and we are really far north. That means that it is still light at that hour, and we have been shooting. Sometimes glorious rainbows, as you have seen, sometimes dramatic light backed by an oncoming storm.

Still, we have a lot of fun, and people get along.

We had a lovely boat ride to a remote lake. The inlet was so calm, it was delightful as we crossed to our landing. We made detours to see the seals, basking in the sun, looking at us. As one of our boat crew said, they are as curious about us as we are about them. I think he was right.

The path was scrambly (my word) in places, but nothing compared to our hike the day before. The Black Cullins (COOH-lins) are jagged and magnificent. In contrast, the Red Cullins have rounded tops. We were in the midst of some of the Black Cullins. With picnics, we were all set for the afternoon.

After a lovely walk and lots of photographs, we made it back to the pub in time for a few pints and glasses of wine and single malt.

I’ll just share a few photos today, to wit…

Next will be a pretty loop along the rocky shore on a narrow, one-track lane.
